This project involved the Swan School, a modern three-storey secondary school with all-weather sport facilities, specialised science labs and dance studios, and Meadowbrook college, which was built as a replacement to a dilapidated former middle school to provide a fit-for-purpose academy for pupils with special needs.
Middlesex delivered firestopping works across both buildings, which included providing and installing passive fire and acoustic stopping to all compartmentation lines, including walls, floors, risers, and service penetrations. Works include fire sealing around all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and hydraulic services using approved, tested systems to achieve the required fire resistance and acoustic performance.
In keeping with Middlesex’s quality and safety focus, installations complied with all relevant standards, approved details, and manufacturer’s instructions.
The project received an Oxford Preservation Trust Award in 2021 for its sensitive design within a conservation area.
Middlesex was also appointed to deliver the drylining works.
